Man with sword in Brockville arrested over vaccine passport dispute at restaurant

A 39-year-old Brockville man is facing weapons charges after he entered a local restaurant with a sword.

According to Brockville police, the man and a friend attended to the restaurant and were causing issues inside regarding vaccine passports.

During the argument, one of the men was observed to have a sword over his shoulder and police were contacted.

When officers arrived, the two men were located still inside the restaurant and the man with the sword was identified by staff

He was placed under arrest for possession of a weapon dangerous to the public is being held for a bail hearing.

The homemade sword was recovered by police and there were no injuries as a result of the incident.
