An online petition directed at Education Minister Stephen Lecce and Premier Doug Ford has garnered over 92,000 signatures.

It was posted over the weekend and takes specific aim at Ontario's back-to-school plan, which was unveiled last week.

It stressed that class sizes should be reduced for elementary students due to COVID-19, and called the current framework 'reckless' and 'disturbing'.

An excerpt said, "Families must not be forced to choose between risking their safety and opting out of our publicly-funded education system."

The petition has a goal of 150,000 signatures, and it has received well over half of that so far.
