Village Media continues to expand its network of media outlets across Simcoe County with the launch of independent news site MidlandToday.ca.

Launched this morning, MidlandToday.ca will bring locally-driven news in real-time to Midland and area, including Penetanguishene and Tiny and Tay Townships.

Heading up the news team is Community Editor Andrew Philips, an award-winning journalist whose writing has appeared in some of the country’s most respected news outlets. He is joined in his hometown by Local Journalism Initiative Reporter Mehreen Shahid, a skilled writer, thorough journalist and well-known face in Simcoe County whose mission it will be to cover town councils and other civic matters.

MidlandToday will be served by Account Executive Stuart Snelgrove, under the leadership of Director of Advertising/Regional Publisher John Hammill.

Designed to be fast and easy to use whether you're on mobile, desktop or tablet, the site will provide breaking news, feature stories, obituaries, and other content from the region. The most current local news will be posted throughout the day, with national news provided by The Canadian Press.
