Kindles of cats

Kindles of cats

It is an easy thing to get mad at animal shelters, especially the ones that take in cats. Even more, the ones that are mandated to take in cats and do not get to say “We’re full,” even when there is no more room for cats.
Ode to Joy

Ode to Joy

I got a call from a lady I’ll call Joy. She wanted to adopt a kitten. Her old cat, “Lively,” needed a reason not to sleep 24/7. I was very hesitant. Not because of Joy’s age – and I could tell by her voice that – like me – she was no spring chick.

What's silver, yellow and runs all over? Two things - a bucket of yellow Tremclad paint, and a silver tabby kitten. Not bad, in and of themselves, but an awfully messy combination.

I could really use a camel at Small Things. Having a shop with cat-themed arts and crafts, new and used books, preloved cats for adoption, and regifted items sounds wonderful, and it is, but it’s also involves a lot of hauling.
Just like Romeo and Juliette

Just like Romeo and Juliette

“Just like Romeo and Juliette” the song goes, but in this particular case it would be “Romeo is Juliette.” Yes the neutered male shelter cat currently staying with us is actually an unspayed female – and that is about to change.
Holy Hannah!

Holy Hannah!

A pawful of wonderful folks and I work with the city shelter to find homes for impounded cats. Our service is called Cat Adoption Trust Sudbury (CATS). The space we work out of, primarily, is Small Things: Kitty Boutique.
