City taking applications for Youth Advisory Panel

Twelve-member panel of local youth age 13 to 18 helps provide ‘insights into municipal initiatives and fostering youth engagement in local governance’

The City of Greater Sudbury is accepting applications for its Youth Advisory Panel. 

This 12-member panel is open to youth aged 13 to 18, with one representative chosen from each ward, alongside two city council members.

Supported by the Leisure Services division's Community Initiatives and Partnerships section, the Youth Advisory Panel plays “a crucial role in providing insights into municipal initiatives and fostering youth engagement in local governance. Members will gain valuable leadership experience while learning about municipal processes and contributing their unique perspectives,” the city said in a news release.

Application forms are now available:

  • Online by visiting www.greatersudbury.ca/signon
  • By mail: Call 311 to request a form
  • In person: Available at your nearest Library/Citizen Service Center or at the One-Stop Services counter in Tom Davies Square

All applications must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 22.
