We are currently seeking a motivated Engineering Specialist with 5-10 years of experience to coordinate all activities of the engineering and investment management department to optimize process execution, ensuring the correct management of human, material and information technology resources. 
 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates basic engineering studies for new facilities or major changes to existing ones. 
  • Coordinates the execution of projects assigned to the department. 
  • Plans and defines the necessary stages of project execution and requirements. 
  • Assesses the information included in the Investments Approval Form (IAF). 
  • Administers periodic controls to identify cost deviations and estimated times for project execution. 
  • Controls final closing of projects. 
  • Oversees the appropriate granting of access privileges to technology systems based on the functions and responsibilities of each job and user profile. 
  • Comply with Tenaris policies, procedures and management standards, and ensure adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility. 
  • To comply with HSE procedures, report any incident or observation, perform inspections and participate in the investigation process. Implement the preventive/corrective actions. Keep updated the risk analysis and the environmental aspect assessment. 
  • Proactively motivate, coach, communicate with and develop his/her staff and manage HR related activities in line with Human Resources norms and procedures. Protect from damage, theft or misuse the facilities, equipment and other physical resources assigned to his/her area. 
     

Education/Experience:

  • Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent.

  • More than 3 years’ work experience in civil projects activities.

  • Detail-oriented and possess effective English written and verbal communication skills

  • Effective interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills

  • Comfortable in a schedule-driven environment and meet deadlines

  • Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision

  • Ability to understand drawing related to design such as Civil, Electrical, Architectural, Plumbing, Fire code, etc.

  • Software knowledge: Office suite, MS Project, CAD
     

Skills:

  • Knowledge of Mechanical (HVAC), Plumbing, Fire detection/suppression and Electrical systems for commercial construction.

  • Knowledge of civil structure and concrete foundation design.

  • Finishing materials knowledge, and vendors sourcing for Canadian market.
