What a joyful time of year it is! Stores are filled with busy shoppers; trees are draped with sparkling lights; homes are brimming with the sweet scent of baking and classic holiday tunes play on radio stations everywhere.

November is a time for organization and prep work. Rake the leaves, pull out the snow shovel, change the car tires, inspect the furnace and haul out the winter clothing.

Soon, we will gather with loved ones around the dinner table before enjoying a delicious turkey feast, while creating new memories and reflecting on our good fortunes.

Summer holidays are over, the new school year has begun and it’s time to get back into the swing of things. For some of you, this may mean getting serious about your long-term savings and investment strategies.

Once upon a time, students required very little supplies in order to start the school year on the right foot. Pencil, paper, ruler and calculator usually covered the basics and not much else was needed.
