Murder suspect in Massey killing granted bail

The 45-year-old woman who is charged with the second-degree murder of Vincent Gagne, 46, in Massey on Aug. 4 has been granted bail.

Melissa Eden has a number of conditions to her bail, which was granted Oct. 6. She must live with her surety in Owen Sound, not leave the residence unless with her surety, have no contact with several people whose names were read out in court, not possess weapons, and not possess/consume alcohol or illegal drugs.

Eden was charged with murder after provincial police responded to a domestic disturbance in Sables Spanish Rivers Township (the Massey area). 

Officers found Gagne inside the home. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Her matter was adjourned to Oct. 28.
