A Canadian hockey legend, a Cree activist, Scrooge and four stars of old Hollywood will tell their stories on our stage this season. Each of these productions has been critically acclaimed across the country. We will present three productions this season each featuring one actor. We will produce the Christmas show which also features one actor but also includes a puppeteer and we will add a chorus of carolers from our Students on Stage program.
PLUS… there’s a whole host of other presentation throughout this entertaining season.
STC continues to grow on and off stage, not only in the calibre of our work, but in our dedicated mission to create extraordinary theatre, celebrate our northern artists, provide outstanding training, present Canada’s leading artists, and provide you with the best patron experience possible. On behalf of the entire STC team, we thank you, our devoted patrons of the arts. Welcome to Sudbury Theatre Centre!

The classic story is brought to life in this very special holiday experience. Hilarious and sometimes spooky, Dickens’ A Christmas Carol has been lovingly recreated for the whole family. Scrooge, Marley, Tiny Tim, Bob Cratchit and three seasonal spirits will fill you with holiday joy. Puppets, projections and music add to the spectacle; it will give you the giggles, move you to tears and fill you to the very brim with the cosy, homey Christmas cheer that we all cherish so much. It’s the 1930s, movies are being made faster than you can say MGM, and being made to make you feel good. Budgets are increasing and the studios are making pictures bigger and bigger. Within the industry, four women emerge who refuse to be “just another ingénue”. Judy Garland, Betty Hutton, Lucille Ball and Bette Davis each made their own strides to make women a more prominent and powerful force in Hollywood. Rebecca Perry gives us a night of marvellous melodies and scandalous headlines from the Golden Age of Hollywood! Learn more.

Watch in wonder as Michelle seamlessly transforms from a curious child into a mischievous spry old woman that holds nothing back.
