logo_green_livingEarthCare Sudbury is the sustainability program for the City of Greater Sudbury.

The program aims to protect and enhance our environment, encourage a healthy lifestyle, and strengthen the local economy. Through initiatives such as the Green Living Magazine, EarthCare events and educational material, EarthCare Sudbury has had two decades of building relationships with local organizations, residents and companies. We  are grateful to our community partners for their commitment to a cleaner, greener, healthier and more sustainable community that is resilient to climate change.

In 2020, the City approved the Community Energy and Emissions Plan (CEEP) with the goal to be a net-zero emissions community by 2050.  The plan provides recommendations on how to reach that target while the City’s Net-zero webpage provides examples of what residents can do at home as well as what organizations are doing within their operations.

The Green Living online platform was launched in 2021 and will provide another avenue to share environmental ideas and stories.  We hope that you enjoy reading the articles, participating in the activities and will respond with questions and suggestions.

There are many ways to take part in our goal to be a net-zero emissions community by 2050.  Through the Regreening Program, our community has proven that we can come together to achieve an admirable goal.  If our community can transform its landscape from black to green, we can continue to work together to change our environmental efforts from green to clean.

We look forward to continuing to share the good work that is being done at the City and within the community.
