Sudbury Symphony Orchestra to host family concert and pre-show activities for the whole family

The Sudbury Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Mélanie Léonard, continues its 43rd season with two performances on Dec. 1.

The Holiday Family Matinée concert, sponsored by Sudbury Living Magazine, is child friendly and will feature pre-concert activities including face painting, an instrument petting zoo and games. 

With the holidays just around the corner, decided to drop-in at the New Sudbury Centre to perform a random act of kindness and surprise shoppers with free tickets to the matinée.

The Holiday Family Matinée concert will take place at 1 p.m. on Dec. 1 at the Fraser Auditorium at Laurentian University.

Audience members will be treated to holiday classics, such as Sleigh Ride, Christmas Festival, Carol of the Bells, and a sing-along. 

Family pack tickets are $50 for two children and two adults. 

The full orchestra, which includes over 30 volunteer and professional musicians from the Greater Sudbury region and beyond, will take the stage again at 7:30 p.m. for A Classic Noël concert, with special guest Pamela Teed, soprano.
