Interested in being in the spotlight? The Sudbury Theatre Centre will be holding open auditions June 9 and 11 for their upcoming 45th anniversary season.
In a news release, STC said call is open to anyone in Greater Sudbury and surrounding areas. Actors have the opportunity to audition for specific acting roles in the season or, if they have not been seen before, they can do a general audition.
Roles available for males and females ages 10 to 75. Anyone who auditions will be added to STC’s local talent directory. Those in the directory will be contacted semi-regularly about updates and opportunities.
Matthew J. Guthrie, talent agent and regional manager at Newton Landry Management Inc., will also be attending auditions to identify potential talent for their roster.
STC will be auditioning young dancers in September to be a part of The Nutcracker by Canada’s Ballet Jorgen.
STC is offering professional and community opportunities. Selected actors for mainstage productions will be offered a union contract. STC’s Young Company and co-productions with YES Theatre are non-union and selected actors and dancers will receive an honorarium. Youth selected to participate in mainstage productions will be required to miss some school time.
Any playwrights, designers and theatre technicians who are interested in meeting with Caleb Marshall, artistic executive director are welcome to submit. Any cabaret acts such as musical acts, musicians, and spoken word artists are welcome to submit for STC’s Cabaret Series.
Please submit a resume or brief bio outlining your experience as well as a recent photograph by email only to [email protected].
Upon receipt of your submission, you will receive character breakdowns and samples of the script to present on the day. Actors may request which character they would like to audition for but they may be considered for alternative roles.
