Earthdancers celebrate Earth Day

Weekend performances conclude with show tonight at 7:30

The local modern dance troupe Earthdancers has one more staging of its annual Earth Day show this weekend.

Earthdancers, celebrating its 25th season this year, aims to raise funds for environmental causes through its performances. Performances Friday and early Saturday will be followed by a finale tonight at 7:30.

This year, funds are being donated to the Junction Creek Stewardship Committee, the Vegetation Enhancement Technical Advisory Committee and Friends of the Earth Canada.

All of the troupe's two-dozen-odd members will perform in a 20-minute-long dance with an environmental theme called Dream of the Dolphin, first performed by Earthdancers in 1997.

Catch the final show at Le Théâtre Du Nouvel-Ontario on the Collège Boréal campus tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for students and seniors and $20 for adults, and are available through TNO's box office. Visit www.letno.ca.
