The third installment in this year's Movie Night Under the Stars series takes place July 28, and screens the 1986 John Hughes film “Pretty in Pink,” starring Molly Ringwald.

Andie (Ringwald) isn't one of the cool kids at her Chicago high school, often hanging out with other un-cool kids, like her buddy, Duckie (Jon Cryer). But then one of boys from the popular clique, Blane (Andrew McCarthy), asks her out, and Andie finds out that dating outside your group isn't always easy.

The film screens Thursday at around 9 p.m. in the parking lot at the corner of Durham and Cedar streets. The event is free, but you need to bring your own seating.

The rest of this year's Movie Night Under the Stars lineup is as follows: “Goonies” Aug. 25, “Footloose” Sept. 3 (during Ribfest) and “Gremlins” Sept. 29.
