Sudbury's own Silver Birch String Quartet teams up with the Odin String Quartet May 29 for its last concert of the 2015-16 season.
The concert takes place starting at 3 p.m. at St. Peter's United Church.
The Odin String Quartet, born in early 2015 on the Philosopher's Walk in downtown Toronto, unites students from the Royal Conservatory of Music's Glenn Gould School and the University of Toronto's Faculty of Music.
The ensemble represents the diversity and the promise of youth in Canada: violinist Alex Toskov is an international student from Belgrade, Serbia; Tanya Charles, also a violinist, grew up in Hamilton, Ontario with roots in St. Vincent and the Grenadines; Laurence Schaufele, one of many in family of musicians, is a violist from Bow Island, Alberta; and Samuel Bisson, cellist and composer, hails from Ottawa, Ontario.
Tickets to the concert cost $25 for adults and $15 for students, and are available at Fromagerie Elgin, Jett Landry or at the door.
