Sudbury Indie Cinema is screening the film “Marinoni: The Fire in The Frame” Thursday, Oct. 13 as part of a new film series for older adults.

The series is called Age Up, and the aim is to bring seniors together to socialize, watch and discuss films that challenge ageism.

“Marinoni: The Fire in The Frame” is by Montreal filmmaker Tony Girandin. It's about Giuseppe Marinoni, who found his calling when he transitioned from champion cyclist to master bike craftsman. After years hunched over toxic fumes, his passion almost kills him. Now age 75, Marinoni is riding again and attempts a world record.

The film screening gets underway at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at Sheridan Auditorium at Sudbury Secondary School. Tickets cost $6 at the door.
