Tickets are now on sale for the YES Theatre Orchestra production of “Mary Poppins,” which runs Dec. 12-14 at Glad Tidings Church.
“After a record breaking summer festival with 'Mamma Mia!' and 'James and the Giant Peach,' YES Theatre is thrilled to present yet another family musical this holiday season,” said a press release from the theatre group.
“This touching and heartwarming classic will be brought to life with a live 16- piece orchestra and a cast of 24 actors! Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny trying to remind us that 'anything can happen, if you let it.'”
YES Theatre Orchestra, which puts on scaled-down productions of musicals backed up by a live orchestra, launched in December 2017 with “Beauty and the Beast,” followed by “The Sound of Music” in December 2018.
“The scope and ambition of our orchestra presentations can rival that of any other professional orchestra in any major epicentre of Canada,” said the press release.
“Providing audiences with world class experiences like this is central to creating a vibrant cultural heartbeat in our community!”
Showtimes are at 7 p.m. on Dec. 12 and 13 and both 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Dec. 14.
Tickets cost $30 for youth and students, $35.40 for seniors (age 65+) and $40 for adults.
