You still have time to get tickets for Springfest

Amazing lineup includes Great Big Sea alum Séan McCann, legendary bluesman Jack de Keyzer and harmonious darlings Eh440

The seventh annual Springfest concert hits the stage at St. Andrew’s Place, 111 Larch St., on April 28 and if you want to see the show, you’d better act quickly — tickets are selling fast.

Springfest is known for shows that provide a stellar cast of musicians. Besides being entertaining, the show helps fund the Out Of The Cold hot meal program by donating a portion of proceeds to its operations.

The April 28 show begins at 7 p.m. sharp. Tickets for this reserved seating event are $37.50, inclusive. Contact Bob Bale at 705-523-6200 or email bobbale@sympatico.ca to purchase.

But who’s on this year’s triple bill?

Well, none other than Séan McCann, founding member of Canadian Maritime folk sensation Great Big Sea, travelling bluesman Jack de Keyzer and the sensational five-member a cappella group Eh440.

McCann’s love for Maritime folk songs saw him find international fame as a founding member of the renowned group Great Big Sea, which sold millions of albums, had countless hit songs, and enjoyed record-breaking tours around the world.

Now working solo, McCann put out a solo album in January 2014 that was produced by Joel Plaskett. McCann’s sophomore record, “You Know I Love You,” is “a happy collection of songs sung by a man intent on sharing his joy directly with you,” McCann’s website states.

Jack de Keyzer has shared a stage with just about everyone you can imagine, just about anywhere you can imagine. From the Arctic Circle to Puerto Escondido, Mexico; from Athens, Greece to Hornby Island, BC; with the likes of Etta James, Ronnie Hawkins and Bo Diddley.

A virtuoso guitarist, De Keyzer is a legend, performing an average of 180 shows a year. A two-time Juno winner, a seven-time Maple Blues Award winner and more, de Keyzer is a performer not to be missed.

Acapella sensations Eh440 are a sight to behold. With just a beatboxer, bass vocalist and three talented lead singers, the brings you a full band sound, without any instruments beyond the power of the human voice.

This is Eh440’s second time at Springfest. They were a big hit the first time they visited the Nickel City, so don’t miss out this time.
