Sudbury celebrated 60 years of Christmas Magic on Nov. 17 with the 2018 Sudbury

Photos: Paw Patrol Live makes for an exciting weekend for Sudbury youngsters

On Nov. 17 and 18, the Sudbury Arena hosted the live-action children's show Paw Patrol Live - "The Great Pirate Adventure.” This interactive travelling show is based on the animated television series, Paw Patrol, and features characters Cap'n Turbot, Marshall, Mayor Goodway, and more of children's favourites. The Christmas Nativity Walk returns for another year at St. Andrews United

For the past two years, St. Andrews United Church has showcased nativity scenes and artwork from around the world through its Christmas Nativity Walk. This year's presentation was held from Nov. 15-17 and featured both store-bought and handmade scenes made from a variety of materials -- notably glass, wood and wool. Hello! The Sudbury Five pick up two wins in their first two games

The Sudbury Five return home victorious after winning 126-123 against the Windsor Express on Nov. 17 and 115-112 against the Kitchener Titans on Nov. 18. This may have been the inaugural weekend for the Sudbury Five but they are showing no signs of growing pains. This weekend marked not only the expansion of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL) but the establishment of the Sudbury Five as force to be reckoned with. Sudbury Five Home Opener

On Nov. 22, the Sudbury Five will host their home opener against the London Lightning at 7 p.m. Tickets for the game are almost sold out with only limited standing room tickets yet available. Sudbury Five tickets can be purchased at greatersudbury.ca/tickets.

Collège Boréal awaits the Key Performance Indicators of Ontario's 24 colleges

The annual results of the Key Performance Indicators for Ontario's 24 colleges, will be announced this morning at 11 a.m. Institutions are ranked from 1-24 in graduate satisfaction, student satisfaction, employer satisfaction, employment rate, and graduation rate. In recent years, College Boreal has maintained their place as the only college to consistently lead in 3/5 indicators. College Boreal is expected to release a statement once the results have been published. 

YMCA of Northeastern Ontario Peace Medal

From Nov.17-24, the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario will join YMCA's across the country to celebrate peace within their communities and the peace-building work done both inside and outside of the organization. In honour of Peace Week, the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario will be hosting Yoga for Peace Thursday, Nov. 22 at 10:30 a.m. and the Peace Medal Ceremony Nov. 22 at 7 a.m. The YMCA Peace Medal is awarded to an individual or group who, without any special resources, demonstrates a commitment to peace through individual contributions made within their local, national or global community.
