Good morning, Greater Sudbury.

Here are some stories to start your weekend.

Sudbury and Nickel Belt Liberals Lefebvre and Serré keep their seats as their party wins minority gov't:

Both Sudbury and Nickel Belt incumbents Paul Lefebvre and Marc Serré won their ridings in Monday night's election. Lefevbre won quite comfortably with 16,281 votes, with nearly 5,000 more votes than runner-up Beth Mairs with 181 of 209 polls reported. Serré's race was a more closely contested one with NDP candidate Stef Paquette nipping at the incumbent's heels throughout most of the night as poll results trickled in. Serré had 17,580 votes to Paquette's 14,927 with 204 of 213 polls reported.

Liberals win most seats in Election 2019:

Justin Trudeau remains prime minister but the Liberals will need the support of at least one party to govern a country that emerged bitterly divided from a bruising 40-day election campaign. With results still pouring in late Monday, the Liberals had 157 seats — 13 short of the 170 needed for a majority in the 338-seat House of Commons. A resurgent Bloc Quebecois scooped up 32 seats, dashing Liberal hopes of making gains in Quebec that could have ensured a second consecutive majority mandate. Despite a strong campaign by NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh, his party was leading or elected in just 23 seats and nearly wiped out in Quebec, the province that only eight years ago delivered an orange wave that pushed the NDP into official Opposition status for the first — and so far, only— time. New CRA scam involves fraudsters posing as OPP officers:

Police are warning of a new twist on an old scam. Historically, fraudsters have been known to use automated calls to potential victims advising them that they owe money to CRA and if they fail to pay, there will be warrants issued for their arrest. More recently, fraudsters have been posing as CRA agents and telling potential victims that their bank accounts have been targeted for fraud. In addition to this, scammers advise potential victims that the OPP will be following up with them.   Recently the OPP have received several complaints from local residents who had received phone calls from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) stating that they owed money and that there was an outstanding warrant of arrest if not paid.
