Call the army! - Janet Strum

I've been a life-long resident of Garson. On the Feb. 2 TV evening news, the only mention of snowbank removal in Garson was Ravina Gardens.

I told the snow removal foreman I've lived in Garson a lot longer than Ravina has been here, and, my tax dollars are just as good as Ravina's. All my street gets is the plow "flying" by the wrong way. It's a one-way street.

On Feb. 5, the plow went through Ravina four times before 5 pm. My 74-year-old father lives on the corner of this subdivision. Instead of the plow pushing the snow into the library parking lot, they left it for him to shovel.

My daughter's school is on William St. in Garson. Our principal called the city last month about the huge banks in front of the school. He was told it's not the city's responsibility. The school board has hired a private contractor to do this area.

Three weeks ago I was waiting for my ride to work at 5:20 am. I could hear the plows. I was very surprised to see them in the arena parking lot. The whole parking lot was cleaned out, but our streets weren't done yet.

Feb. 6 was the scariest trip to work I've ever had. What if an ambulance was needed?
