I just wanted to take a moment to say thank
you for so many positive things that have happened at
Extendicare the past four years that my mother, Sylvia Brown,
was there.
Whatever concerns I had were easy to bring to
someone's attention and they were dealt with and resolved. It
was the only nursing home willing to transport Mum via
hoverlift into my van so she could go on drives.
The outdoors and drives were always top
priority for Mum-along with a Tim Horton's coffee, of
course.
It's the little things in life that count.
Thoughtful moments like finding her lost hearing aid, putting
her name on her glasses and hearing aid, including her in a
sewing or baking circle even when she couldn't join in. (She
would sense the inclusion and feel a part of things.) I commend
staff and encourage them to continue to have all the residents
in daily activities of some kind or another. Kudos to Marie,
who always does.
I will continue to keep Extendicare
Falconbridge in my heart and wherever it is possible to return
some love and caring back to them.
