Editor's note: This letter is in response to the article, “Sudbury woman the new face of cancer screening for trans community.”

Four years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer through having a mammograph. I would not have known, would have gone to Arizona for the winter, and only when a lump or other indication appeared would have been aware of my illness.

It was an aggressive cancer.

The screening technicians saved my life.

If there is even one transgender person who needs support to go for a screening, call me. I will gladly go with you. Every woman has a right to be screened, and it could save your life.
