Letter: City infrastructure neglected

Morris Street, Elgin Street, Van Vorne and Howey Drive, just to name a few, are being neglected. I do not know the last time these roadways were totally repaved, widened and the curbing done.

Morris Street, Elgin Street, Van Vorne and Howey Drive, just to name a few, are being neglected. I do not know the last time these roadways were totally repaved, widened and the curbing done.

I can remember when we had more snow in the winters, more rain fall and the pavement lasted longer than two years.

The citizens of the side streets and roads would like to see their tax dollars at work right in front of their houses without having to always go to Paris Street, Regent Street, Notre Dame, Lasalle Blvd, Barrydowne or The Kingsway.

We want a new arena, and other things that will bring in more revenue to the city, but instead see our politicians spend it on some trip supposedly for the city’s benefit.

Our bright politicians took down the antique Iron Bridge near Morris and Howie Drive and erect a new bridge that has not been maintained even with a coat of paint.

I could go on and on about our beautiful city’s eyesores, but I believe you get the picture. If not, go see these for yourself.
