I am proud to be a lifetime member of the City of Greater Sudbury.

Council is looking at reality with an all-hands-on-deck approach, the only way we can do our part to secure a livable community going forward. I am most grateful for their 21st century leadership.

For sure, the list of what must be done to get to net-zero emissions in the slim amount of time science tells us we have seems mind boggling. I remain focused on the prize that we are giving ourselves as we move from plan to action to goals reached: a quieter, cleaner, safer, healthier, more affordable, predictable and aesthetically pleasing community full of opportunities.

The alternative is unthinkable.

High five to the much-respected Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury for taking on the task of shining a light on what this monumental transition means for us. I suspect their twice-monthly opinion pieces will quickly become the go-to article in Northern Life as we seek to understand what is happening.

Thank you, Northern Life, for publishing this series.
