Anything else is smoke and mirrors, he says

Editor's note: The following letter is in response to Northern Life managing editor Mark Gentili's column, titled “Ontario has a $300B debt that no candidate is really talking about.”

A great editorial and you are right about everything.

In the last campaign, Tim Hudak came out and laid out his plan to turn things around and it bombed so fast, his campaign was dead within 20 minutes of announcing it.

Doug is at least talking about the massive debt, which is why I am campaigning for him. And, yes, he might not be laying out a “detailed plan,” but guess what: Nine out of 10 voters are not looking to read a detailed plan. They want a guy who recognizes the problem and says he is going to fix it.

Also, remember that Doug Ford just became the leader, but unless he wins the election by being out there campaigning, he can have the most detail platform ever, but it won’t mean anything unless he is elected.

So to the naysayers out there, I say have some faith. Give the guy a break. Your choice right now boils down to either more of what you have got or a common-sense guy who says he will fix the problem.

This election is 100 per cent about the economy and the direct impact that will have on health care, education and jobs. Absolutely nothing else. Anything else is smoke and mirrors. I go door to door explaining this and I am getting very positive results.
