I must agree with letter writer Mike Alexander about traffic noise.
I have recently moved to a lovely high rise overlooking a major traffic artery in our city. However, sitting on my balcony on the seventh floor is not a pleasant experience. The noise level of some vehicles is extremely excessive.
I can live with the regular drone of traffic, but cars and motorcycles with modified mufflers are a real problem.
I feel very sorry for the property owners at the street level who must put up with noise 24 hours, seven days a week.
Sudbury Bylaw 2018-29, part 3, line 6 reads:
“Except as otherwise specifically provided for in this By-law no Person shall at any time, make, cause or permit any sound from any of the following activities, if the sound, at the Point of Reception, is of a type likely to disturb the inhabitants of the City.”
Why is this not enforced?
