My name is Shandel, and I attended the Fridays For Future Climate Strike on May 3 at Laurentian University on behalf of the Sudbury Workers Centre.

It was amazing to see how many supporters came out, and to hear the passion they had for protecting our planet. Over 400 people walked and chanted, and agreed that Greater Sudbury should declare a climate emergency.

Protecting our planet and the environment may seem like a daunting task, but all it takes is a few people to start making a difference, and the movement can grow. The more people, the more powerful, the better the change.

Which is why word must be spread and action must be encouraged and change must be made.

Which is why I am writing this letter to you, to help us in these efforts, and to help share our voices.
