Letter: Keep bicycle lanes away from traffic

Attlee now has an island that is ugly, cheap and dangerous, especially in the winter. We have extended curbs at intersections that are useless to slow down traffic. They impede the snow ploughs from pushing the snow around the curb.

Attlee now has an island that is ugly, cheap and dangerous, especially in the winter. We have extended curbs at intersections that are useless to slow down traffic. They impede the snow ploughs from pushing the snow around the curb.

The residents of Attlee refused a bicycle lane, but our ward councillor added signs and designated white lines to indicate the lane for cyclists, with signs to share the road. The signs do not make sense, considering the state of the road.

Two or five lanes with a bicycle path will always be dangerous. It is just human nature that accidents will occur, and you are placing all drivers in jeopardy.

I am not against bicycle lanes, but keep them away from traffic. There’s a little too much lobbying by a very small minority.
