Letter: Local players could be the Wolves' salvation

It is difficult to criticize a Sudbury institution, but there has to be some answer somewhere.

The Wolves have not been close to a Memorial Cup participation since Bobby Orr played for the Oshawa Generals, when north played the south in the Ontario final.

I remember a few years ago the London Knights were fortunate to win a game, yet they have won the Memorial Cup since. The North Bay Trappers won a cup and the Greyhounds won a cup. Where are the Wolves?

Who picked the first local player? The London Knights.

The Wolves keep on looking south, yet their best players ever are Sudbury boys, Ron Duguay, Randy Carlyle, the Foligno family and all the red heads from Thunder Bay — the Staal brothers, etc.

The Wolves should at least draft as many local players as possible. They can't do worse than what has been since the 1930s. We could at least cheer for our locals.
