It would benefit many, including those with limited mobility

Winter brings many hazards, but one that could have been eliminated years ago continues to frustrate and threaten many citizens, especially those of limited mobility including our large seniors population.

We are referring to the high snow banks in our downtown area that make it very difficult to reach the parking meters, which are buried at present in up to four feet of hard packed snow.

Friendly to Seniors - Sudbury has been advocating for many years to successive city councils to have the meters removed to the side of buildings along the sidewalk away from the curb where they are now, which would allow for safer, easier access and for more efficient snow removal or to have modern pay stations located away from curbs as in other communities.
