Letter: Statue thief disheartens family

Recently I discovered a bout of thievery in the neighbourhood. This is not the Sudbury that I moved to last year. From day one, nothing has gone missing, nor has it become misplaced.

I just noticed that a small statue strategically placed in the front garden has gone missing.

It had meaning to the family, so it is rather disappointing that someone thought to take it with them as they walked through the neighbourhood. It is of no value to the person who took it. It is just a sign of how things are changing.

Sudbury is not a large city compared to Toronto. However it now appears that those in a larger city who don’t care for another person’s property are now living amongst us in Sudbury.

No more small statues will grace the garden, as after someone stealing it, the family has no interest in fulfilling someone else’s standing dream of becoming a master thief. All I can say is we are quite saddened by this.
