Wild Horses perform at Anderson Farm Museum at Rock the Farm in 2023.

The Heritage Society’s 13th Annual “Rock The Farm” free Concert/Farmers’ Market Summer Series was a huge success! Our volunteer board would like to thank the hundreds of people who helped us really “rock” the Anderson Farm Museum every Wednesday, in August.

Five Local Bands: Wild Horses, Stephanie Fyfe, Tom Fyfe & The Whiskey River Blues Band, SEVEN + ONE, Chicks with Picks and Outsider, with sound provided by Keegtunes Sound & Lighting, really “rocked the farm” every Wednesday.

Our long-term “Rock The Farm” concert sponsors made things happen: City of Greater Sudbury, GS Heritage Museums, Sudbury Tourism, PURE Country 91.7, Hia Media and our 2024 in-kind sponsors Keegtunes Sound & Lighting, Sudbury Credit Union, Labrecque Fisher Optometrists, Walden Lions Club. Morris Group of Companies sponsored the bands and Focus Health-Physiotherapy & Wellness, Doyle Family-Timmins and Walden Srs. & Pensioners Ltd sponsored the sound system.

Special thanks to the Walden Lions Club for organizing 50/50 draws, raising $1.620 for the Heritage Society to help cover the costs of hosting Rock The Farm and our long-term in-kind media sponsors PURE Country 91.7 & Sophie from the Tailgate Crew, plus Toppers Pizza, which donated a year’s supply of pizza to two lucky winners each week.

Our Mid-Week Farmers’ Market was a huge success. Special thanks to our board members who drove to Leisure Farms each week and CGS students Abigail, Lindsay, Emily, Pascale and Kallie who sold fresh produce and locally produced value-added products from Leisure Farms, Perogy Princess, Creekbend Farms, Gerber Produce & Mountain Maple Syrup Products with all profits going directly to the Heritage Society. Special shoutout also goes to farmers’ market vendors Hazel & Rosemary Micro Bakery & Kitchen, The Caramel Kitchen and That’s My Jam!

Thanks to the snack food vendors: Steven’s Sweets, The Spud and Grill, Slush Puppie & Mucho Burrito, plus our community partners that provided free displays and activities: Cambrian College’s Let’s Talk Science & Street Team, Massey Agricultural Society, Science North, Independent Living, Sudbury Crime Stoppers, Canadian Blood Services, and Ryusyokai Inaka Karate Dojo.

Thanks to business vendors Miss Melissa’s Things, Lesa’s Creations, Cloud 7, Joyful Home, Healing Stones, July’s Closet, Vetac, Such a Girly Girl, Noni’s Craft Nook, Tupperware and Herbal Remedies Natural Teas.

And sincere appreciation to everyone who helped the Heritage Society co-ordinate and set-up/take-down every Wednesday: Walden Lions, CGS Summer students and our board members.

We couldn't host our annual “Rock The Farm” Concert/Farmers’ Market summer series without your generous support.
