Letter: Why are city sidewalks unwalkable in winter?

Editor's note: This letter was also sent to Ward 12 Coun. Joscelyne Landry-Altmann

I would like to bring to your attention the lack of proper sidewalk snow clearing. I live on Sunrise Ridge and walk to work Monday to Friday to the downtown core. I can not put into words how frustrated I am with the impassable sidewalks coming home today (Feb. 18), the person responsible for the upkeep of our sidewalks should be made to walk the goat trail I had to walk today. This isn't the first time this has happened and I am sure won't be the last.

It would seem the city thought Family Day has been extended to a two-day holiday?

If council really believed in making the city greener, here is some advice: get the basics down first, clear sidewalks for all to be able to walk on. Luckily, I am able-bodied — heaven help those with any type of physical disability.
