Letter: Mad Wolves fan wants a new arena on The Kingsway

Urges council to get off their 'butts' and make it happen
Sudbury Arena
Letter writer Ray Hamilton says it's time to move on from the downtown Sudbury Arena and build a new home for the Sudbury Wolves. File photo,

On Jan 5, in the Northern Life, there was a letter to the editor about the arena again.

This is getting out of hand.

This gentlemen that wrote this article has only been here for 10 years. Well, my family and I have lived in Greater Sudbury for 35 years, and we are devoted Sudbury Wolves season ticket holders.

We've seen this arena go through a lot of repairs, there was a black out, condensation on the glass, there were broken water pipes, three toilets overflowing, there
was water in the bathroom floor, etc., etc.,

How many times do we have to fix this building. Parking downtown costs a lot of money. Now my family and I would like city council to get off their behinds and build a new complex out on the Kingsway.

It is still in Greater Sudbury. We all live in Sudbury. We know that there are a lot of people in Sudbury that don't like Mr. Zulich.

We are proud of the Sudbury Wolves and the players. So let's get it done now. We pay $5 to parking on game night, and game tickets are $20 — for an arena that is old. That's not right.

We need it on The Kingsway so we can see a good game. So mayor of Greater Sudbury, this is to you from a fan that wants you to get off your butt and get it done.
