A huge shout out to Lucio Fabris and the Grotto Committee for the unique experience of A Night at the Grotto.

For more than 100 years, individuals have worked diligently to create this scarcely-revered crown jewel of Sudbury. A Night at the Grotto was a climax of the fruit of their labour.

The brainchild of Lucio Fabris, who marveled at the dedication of his Godfather, John Masotti, and so many other dedicated volunteers, and decided to propose this event to honour their work, this evening concert chilled the body, but warmed the soul.

As we climbed the slope to the Colonnade and Fountain to claim one of the 1,400 seats, a woman walking alongside marveled at the sights at the Grotto. Even though a Greater Sudbury senior, she had never visited.

Thank you to all the planners, organizers, volunteers, performers, sponsors and attendees. It was a night that will go down in history for honouring our visionaries, and those who make their dreams come true.
