Senior appreciates care from HSN staff

'Very professional and caring service'
hsn
Letter writer John Lindsay is appreciative of the care he received at HSN. File photo.

Seniors are prone to falls, and I became a statistic, slipping not on winter ice, but at home, where most falls actually occur.

A large and growing painful hematoma formed above my left hip, and on the advice of a walk-in clinic physician, I went to the emergency department at HSN.

The waiting room was full, but during my stay from around 7 p.m. I was seen by four nurses, four doctors, three blood samples taken, had X-rays an ultra sound plus two intravenous drips.

Upon being discharged for home recovery around midnight, the waiting room was almost completely empty, evidence that all present based on my observation received, like myself, very professional and caring service, a credit to emergency department staff and our very busy health care institution.
