I want to let you know that although Cineplex
Galaxy has acquired Famous Players, there are no plans at this
time to rename the Sudbury SilverCity. The theatre will
eventually lose the Famous Players part of its name, but the
brand name, SilverCity will remain. Cineplex Galaxy, since the
purchase of Famous Players, has indicated publicly that it will
continue to operate theatres under the following five top tier
brands: Cineplex Odeon, Galaxy Cinemas, Colossus, Coliseum and
SilverCity. The Paramount brand is not included in the
operating brands because the name Paramount belongs to Famous
Players' former parent company, Viacom.
