On Wednesday, Dec. 20, I went into this hospital for a hip replacement.
I was in a fair bit of pain and I was leery and a bit afraid of the operation. I went into the operating room at 11 a.m. with a great team led by Dr. Eric Robinson.
I cannot give enough thanks to this great group of surgeons. They are the best, and I cannot thank them enough. I was in recovery room at 2 p.m. and in my room at 4 p.m., totally pain free and have had no pain whatsoever.
I was up the next day again totally pain free and walking, with a nurse keeping a careful watch on me.
On Dec. 23, I was heading home totally pain free. Yes, I use a walker because my hip is weak, not because it has any pain.
I know in my own mind that all the staff made my healing faster by the way I was treated. They did a million little things for me that I am truly thankful for.
I left the hospital feeling lucky to have such wonderful staff, as they make the hospital what it is. I am receiving timely visits from a Bayshore nurse and a physiotherapist, who are also excellent.
Now I am totally happy that I had it done and know that I am on a speedy recovery, mainly due to the great treatment and the million little things they all did for me.
All I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you.
