Letters to the Editor

Don't blame Tories - Frank Petkovich

I believe every citizen of Ontario is entitled to get their just entitlements out of our system, and perhaps a little more if they can manipulate it, legally, of course.

Food banks for needy only - Christina Visser

Until recently, I felt good about giving to food banks. Then I read the article, Savour the pleasure of cup of cocoa, in Northern Life. A Cambrian College financial aid officer encouraged students on a budget to use the food banks to save money.

Special thanks

Special thanks for a good deed. In the fall, I was grocery shopping at the Independent on Lasalle boulevard, I forgot my purse in a buggy in the parking lot. I only realized it after I got home and, of course, rushed right back to the store.

Development wary - Doug Mackay

As a concerned citizen in the South End, I would like to bring attention to something I discovered in a walk through the bush behind Muriel Crescent. I discovered a straight trail was being cut through the bush toward the top of the hill.

No more sir - Ron Minogue

More sir! More sir! How much more do these guys want? If the federal MPs are going to increase their office expenses, do we really expect the $1 million quoted to cover this increase? Remember this is the same government that could not find one cent

Bylaw cruel - Maggie Reynolds

The new pet bylaw is not fair. Allowing only two dogs per household could devastate families who own more then two dogs. Anyone who owns a dog knows they are not just a pet, but a member of the family.

Enough's enough - Gordon Scott

Do we get to vote on the most overblown story of the year? Kim Rogers inquest has gotten about a 1,000 times more press then it should have. Gordon Scott Sudbury

More honest folks - Lucette (Lucy) Goheen

I lost my purse Friday, Dec. 6, while out shopping. I retraced my steps but could not find it. It contained cash, credit cards and personal information among other items. I cancelled everything that could be cancelled.

Our council cannot lead - Frank Buchan

Looking back upon the performance of the city council exposes unfortunate realities. Politicians at every level constantly use the excuse that outside forces made them do whatever it is they should not have done.

Checkeris for mayor - Don Greco Sr.

I would like to publicly nominate Ernie Checkeris for next mayor of our fair city. If you have any comment, please contact by e-mail at [email protected] or by telephone at 566-7982. We can all make a difference.
