It is with great anticipation, grudging admiration and unmitigated glee that northerners await the grand opening of the new Niagara Falls casino and gaming complex.

As Canadians complete their tax returns this year many are quietly - and sometimes loudly - cursing Ottawa. No responsible citizen can accept a government that abuses the public's trust and freely plunders the treasury.

It is with great anticipation, grudging admiration and unmitigated glee that northerners await the grand opening of the new Niagara Falls casino and gaming complex.

Perhaps John Lindsay is on to something with his "See Sudbury" image-marketing proposal. But at the same time as the catchy phrase hit me, a question immediately came to mind.

Give that young man a cigar! He's hit the clown right on the nose. It is refreshing to see Lionel Rudd, who has an understanding of why taxes have increased, why services have declined, and possibly, why tuition has increased.
