Letters to the Editor

Seeing's believing - M.C. Kennedy

I'll believe it when the construction work (on Highway 69) is seriously happening. The previous government guilty of mismanagement? Rick Bartolucci should look at his own party. The Liberals are the uncontested champs of waste and mismanagement.

Dragon Boat Festival raised $114,000 for capital campaign - Joe Drago

It is a pleasure to announce that the Alzheimer Society Capital Campaign enjoyed superb pledge results from the Dragon Boat Festival once again.

No average activist - Christian A. Howald

I was really disappointed after seeing the photos in Sunday's issue about the $500,000 donated to NOSM by AstraZeneca and matched by the Northern Heritage Fund.

Transit terminal too cold - Linda Marsh

With the threat of rolling blackouts, it amazes me that some of our local businesses, including pharmacies, grocery stores, malls but especially Greater Sudbury Transit are still operating their air conditioners at what appears to be at full capacity

Not natural - Donna Martyn

I'd like to commend the Sikh community for standing against same-sex marriages in such a clear way. I hope our MPs, prime minister and ministers have the courage to do so too. Anyone can see that it's a ridiculous concept and against nature.

Fed up with potholes - Robin Poitras

I am a fed-up motorist in this city. I was driving home from work when I hit a large pothole on Falconbridge Rd. I was barely driving 50 km/hr when I hit this crater and blew out my tire and bent my rim.

Bell Park needs attention - Mark Palumbo

In his State of the City address Mayor Dave challenges us to make Greater Sudbury "Ontario's foremost lifestyle city." I applaud our mayor's vision and his imaginative ideas to help make this vision a reality.

City needs jobs not more people - Leo Bisson

According to the Feb. 2 Northern Life, the mayor is taking a conference call (on how to attract immigrants). The mayor is out to recruit new citizens for Greater Sudbury.

Adoption article was appreciated - Noreen Talbot born Dorothy Hunter

I would like to commend Heidi Ulrichsen for her article regarding Adoption Disclosure and for quoting Gail Gilchrist from the Sudbury branch of Parent Finders.

Reader against gay marriages - Gail Aubut

It appears to me the media is portraying a very romantic and idealistic picture of gay and lesbian unions. There is this notion that changing the definition of marriage to include gays and lesbians will create a more "stabilizing" environment.
