The Second Annual Amazing Charity Race took place on May 26,
beginning at Grumbler's on Regent Street.
The event drew over 90 participants from across the Greater
Sudbury area who raised funds in support of the Sudbury
branches of the United Way and the Canadian Red Cross.
Participants raised over $15,000 this year.
The event is based on CBS's popular reality show The
Amazing Race. In the charity version, teams had to race to
various locations around Greater Sudbury, gathering clues and
completing challenges to reach each of the ten set locations
around the city to be crowned champions.
Participants were given a vehicle and a driver to make their
way around the city. Vehicles were chosen by team members
bobbing for sets of keys in a kiddy pool filled with oatmeal.
