Recent polls by The Toronto Star indicate Canadians are increasingly concerned about climate change when they think about their future.

Now Sudburians can see the movie about the topic.

An Inconvenient Truth, narrated by former United States vice-president Al Gore, at Rainbow Cinemas in the Rainbow Centre downtown until Thursday July 13.

"I just returned from watching Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth at Rainbow Cinemas. Kudos to Rainbow for bringing it to Sudbury," wrote Laurentian University scientist David Pearson.

"It is an important, compelling and empowering piece of science and political communication. The science is accurate and it is put into a story with great skill by both the producer and Al Gore himself. It is effective and should be very widely seen and discussed," said Pearson.

Show times are 1:15, 3:15, 5:20, 7:20 and 9:25 daily.

"It might not win an Oscar-although if there were a category for Most Important Picture it might-but it will win many other awards, especially those for giving an audience food for thought," he said.
