The public is invited to check out local pottery artist Paula Walsh's exhibit, “Exploring Creativity through Clay and Canvas,” which is on display at Artists on Elgin until the end of May.

This unique exhibit features functional pottery and various paintings as Paula Walsh is a multifaceted artist. While specializing in the art of pottery, Walsh has expanded her creative process and moved into different mediums.

“I strive to make each piece unique,” said Walsh. “I decided long ago that I would rather make 300 different mugs than the same mug 300 times. Machines can replicate, people make art.”

“This exhibit is great because a lot of the pieces are functional and make great gifts,” said Courtney Natale, business promotions co-ordinator for The Northern Artist Gallery/ Artists on Elgin. “All pieces are handmade and one of a kind.”

Artists on Elgin is located at 168 Elgin St., and is open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.artistsonelgin.ca.
