Authors for Indies is an annual campaign that supports independently-owned bookstores.

On April 29, Bay Used Books on Elm Street will welcome local authors including Kristan Cannon, Heidi C. Vlach, Andy W. Taylor and Sabine Wilder (and more) to support the campaign and to give back to the community of readers in Sudbury.

In 1975 the Bouffard family began selling and trading used books in Sudbury and in 2015 they celebrated 40 years of business in the community.

Anne Bouffard and her husband Jim Shea took over the store from her parents in 2005 and are proud to be owners of the largest used book store in Northern Ontario.

Janie Chang, the founder of Authors for Indies, has described the campaign as "a different sort of literary event whose goal is to raise awareness of indie bookstores and how important they are: to our communities, our reading lives, and our cultural well-being.”
