Community artwork in support of survivors of gender-based violence was recently unveiled under the name 16 jours Sudbury 16 days.

This year, as part of the 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence, organizations working toward ending gender-based violence from Sudbury and districts joined to collect positive words and messages in support of survivors of gender-based violence.

On Dec. 10, International Human Rights Day, the partners unveiled a digital creation that has been crafted from the messages received from community members.

An Instagram account, @sudbury16days, will post the collection of positive messages Dec. 10-31. The community is invited to follow this account and share the messages with their networks.

“Thank you to all those who contributed to this project by sharing positive messages,” said the press release. “It is heartwarming to see the support and commitment of our communities to survivors of gender-based violence.

“We are proud to share these positive words, especially in these uncertain times,” said Mireille Charlebois of Centre Victoria pour femmes.

“We’re looking forward to sharing these positive words while building connections in our Community,” said Stéphanie Fournier of Réseau ACCESS Network.

This project is a collaboration between Réseau ACCESS Network and Centre Victoria pour femmes.
