After Craig Ferguson cancelled his performance at the LOL Sudbury Comedy Festival, the festival is bringing in Bill Burr.

He'll perform at the Sudbury Arena April 4.

A prolific American stand-up comedian, actor, and host of The Monday Morning Podcast, Burr is known for his envelope-pushing and politically incorrect material.

He premiered his fourth hour-long special, I’m Sorry You Feel That Way, on Netflix in 2014, performed a sold out show at Madison Square Garden in November 2015, and on Dec. 18 his animated Netflix series, F Is For Family, premiered featuring Bill, Laura Dern and Justin Long as the Murphy family.

Burr has been seen in the Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg film “Daddy’s Home,” and received raves for his recurring role as “Kuby” on AMC's acclaimed series “Breaking Bad.”

The rest of LOL Sudbury's mainstage shows take place next month — the Trailer Park Boys Feb. 5, Jeremy Hotz Feb. 8.

Ferguson was among the mainstage headliners announced by the festival in November, but is unable to appear due to a scheduling conflict.

Tickets to Burr's show are $69, and go on sale Jan. 20 at the Sudbury Arena Box Office. Phone 705-671-3000 or visit www.greatersudbury.ca/tickets
