Award-winning comedian, actor and No. 1 best-selling author Eric Johnston performs at the Coulson Entertainment Centre Friday, Nov. 1.
Known for his high-energy, one-of-a-kind comedy, Johnston returns to Sudbury fresh from his fourth cross-country “UndeniaBULL” Comedy Tour with a show guaranteed to keep you laughing all night.
Johnston brings a powerful stage presence that combines outrageous stories and relatable humor, from growing up with his professional wrestler dad “Bullwhip Johnson” to his roots in Hamilton, Ont.
He’s graced iconic venues like The Comedy Store in Hollywood, The Laugh Factory, The House of Blues, MTV, and Just for Laughs, solidifying his place as one of Canada’s fastest-rising comedians. Known for his relentless work ethic, Johnston’s approach to comedy is unique: “When you run with the bull fast enough, you become undeniaBULL!”
A Canadian-born talent, Johnston was drawn to the stage at an early age, pursuing dance and theater before diving into acting and comedy. After graduating from the prestigious Vancouver Film School and being featured on shows like “Degrassi: The Next Generation” and the global hit “SPLATALOT,” he found his true calling in stand-up comedy.
Now, he hosts “Comedy in the Creek” in Stoney Creek, Ontario, showcasing some of Canada’s finest comedic talent.
The show is being presented by Sudbury Performance Group.
“Eric and SPG have worked together a number of times, and every time it’s kismet,” said Mark Mannisto, president of Sudbury Performance Group.
“With his personality and SPG's commitment to quality comedy, we make sure we’re knocking it out of the park every time we work together. Eric is by far the hardest-working man in Canadian comedy, and every time he hits the stage, he absolutely body slams the competition! He is Canada’s hidden gem when it comes to comedy.”
The show runs at the Coulson Entertainment Centre (52 Larch St.) starting at 8 p.m. Nov. 1. Tickets cost $40. Purchase them at sudburyperformance.ca.
