The Sudbury Gardening Festival, which will take place May 27 downtown at the YMCA Sudbury building, has received a Canada 150 Garden Experience designation - meaning it's one of the 150 garden ways to celebrate Canada's birthday.

In celebration of Canada’s sesquicentennial, 150 gardens and garden experiences across the country were jury-selected to receive the designation by the Canadian Garden Council in collaboration with the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association.

The Sudbury Gardening Festival will showcase products and gardening advice for both newbies and more experienced green thumbs.

Hear from guest speakers, purchase plants, check out the flower show and enjoy live entertainment and yummy treats. Vendors will be on site selling plants, lawn ornaments and more.

Admission for the Sudbury Gardening Festival is free and takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 27 inside and outside the YMCA Sudbury building, located at 140 Durham Street.
